Taylor's introduced Chip Dry in 1934 as a new style of white aperitif port. Made from traditional white grape varieties, it is fermented longer than usual to give it a fresh dry finish. Several years of ageing in oak casks and careful blending give the fresh fruit flavours an elegant complex nutty taste. Produced in limited quantities, Chip Dry white port is sold in individually numbered bottles bearing the name of the cellar where the wine was aged. Origin: Portugal, Douro. Port style: Taylor's Chip Dry Port. Port house: Taylor's. Grapes: Arinto, Boal (Semillon), Côdega, Esgana Cão, Folgasão, Gouveio, Viosinho and Rabigato. Storage and serving: This white port is ready to drink now. Once opened it can be kept for up to 3 months. Serve chilled in summer or at 14ºC in the colder months. Quantity: 750 ml. What can you taste? Pale straw yellow colour. Delicate aroma of fresh fruit with the soft notes and hints of oak of a traditional white port. Fresh, lively on the palate with good flavour and a crisp dry finish. Food & spice: Chip Dry White Port is a stylish and refined aperitif, the perfect introduction to a relaxed meal. The white port is best served chilled in a large port glass and accompanied by marinated olives or roasted almonds. Chip Dry can also be used to make a refreshing and original summer drink by mixing one part Chip Dry White Port with two parts chilled tonic water in a tall glass, then adding a sprig of mint or a twist of lemon.
