The crème de la crème of tawny ports, the 40 year old Taylor's tawny port. This tawny is made from 100 percent estate grown grapes. Origin: Portugal, Douro. Port style: Taylor's 40 Years Old Tawny Port. Port house: Taylor's. Grapes: A field blend of many varieties such as Touriga Nacional, Touriga Francesa, Tinta Roriz. Storage and serving: This 40 year old tawny is ready to drink now. Once opened it can be kept for a month. Serve at cellar temperature (12 to 15ºC). Quantity: 750 ml. What can you taste? A sublime port of great age that shows the old olive gold tint of its many years in cask. Decades of evaporation have concentrated this extraordinary wine to an exceptional density, with a powerful nose of dried fruit, honey and a hint of spice. Impressions of nutmeg, roasted coffee and intense nuts can be recognised both in the bouquet and on the palate. The wine’s rich, intense, voluptuous, almost syrupy texture finishes with an incredibly long finish. Food & spice: Taylor's 40 year old tawny is to be enjoyed in a comfortable chair, for example with a cigar, with no need for food.
