A single quinta (single vineyard) port from one of Graham’s top vineyards. 1995 was not declared as a general vintage year, but the grapes from the Malvedos vineyard were considered good enough for a single quinta vintage. It turned out to be a top vintage. Origin: Portugal, Douro, Malvedos vineyard. Port style: Graham’s Malvedos Vintage Port 1995. Port house: Graham’s. Grape varieties: field blend of Touriga Franca, Tinta Roriz, Tinta Barroca, Touriga Nacional, Tinta Cão, and Tinta Amarela. Cellaring and serving: decant before serving. Serve at cellar temperature (12–15 ºC). Tasting notes: very dense colour. The nose is opulent and ripe with aromas of flowers and black cherry, and the palate is simply magnificent. The balance between richness, sweetness, gorgeous fruit, tannic backbone, structure, and complex plum and spice flavours is beautiful. Lush and rich. Food & spice: best enjoyed on its own after lunch or dinner, but can also be paired with mature cheeses or a relaxing cigar.
