Churchill's 2000 Vintage Port is a milestone in the history of Churchill's. It is the first vintage in which Churchill's is the port grower as well as the shipper. The vintage blend now includes ports produced from their own vineyards at Quinta da Gricha and Quinta do Rio. The word I would use to describe Churchill's 2000 is 'intensity'. Concentrated baked‑fruit aromas with a resinous background. Rich and complex on the palate with lots of acidity and a good tannin structure (23 May 2011). Food & spice: Best enjoyed on its own after lunch or dinner, but can also be paired with rich cheeses or a relaxing cigar.
